Health Insurance

The University requires all students who register for 6 or more credits to have health insurance. Students will be asked to show proof of health insurance by presenting their insurance policy number, the name of the insurance provider, and the telephone number of the provider. If students do not have health insurance or provide proof of health insurance, they will be automatically charged for University sponsored insurance.

Single rate coverage for the 2007-08 University Group Policy is $782 per semester. The student health insurance semester premium will be placed on the registration fee statement.

PLEASE NOTE: During the sports season, athletes must have insurance other than the University group policy since this policy does not cover intercollegiate athletes. For additional information, contact the UMC Athletics Department at 218-281-8422.

Health insurance must be verified by the Student Health Insurance Application/Waiver Card at the time of registration or the cost of insurance will be added to students' fee statements. Proof of insurance must be done the first day of the semester.
